@TechnicalJaguar Good on ya, that’s why I put these videos up. Enjoy your gun.

  8. TechnicalJaguar says:

When watching this video for the first time about a week ago I decided to build my own musket. It turned out to be a matchlock musket pistol which works quite well.

    Beautiful

@ANZACS100 People also build cars, boats and airplanes. A car can have a control malfunction and crash, boats can be sunk and leave you to drown, airplanes can fail for any number of reasons and crash, none of this makes building them any less worthwhile to do.
They’re all dangerous things to do but I believe in living life as dangerously as possible. That’s what they call living.

  17. DecimusMaximus says:

@obeyance No it is not legal to build a fully automatic gun, you need a manufacturing license not a tax stamp. The tax stamps are for buying an already manufactured gun.

Though if you know something I don’t in this regard, feel free to send me a message with legal evidence because I would be honestly interested in being shown otherwise.

  18. DecimusMaximus says:

@surfer911dood I may build a Flintlock next instead, if only for the sake of having a self-igniting musket. In either case I still have a lot of saving up to do to afford the parts. If I could find a decent source of spring steel I could finish my Snaphaunce, but everyone is obsessed with mild steel which is useless for musket mainsprings.

The music is ‘Clockworks’ from the movie ‘City of Ember’.

  19. surfer911dood says:

@DecimusMaximus Sir, i shall patiently await the arrival of your Japanese rifle, even if it takes a million years!

p.s WHAT IS THAT TOTALLY EPIC MUSIC MAN!!???

    NICE WORK

  21. ZuluDawn88 says:

How did you get the metal parts for this? Did you make them? Looks very nice!

  22. LutzDerLurch says:

@DecimusMaximus of course you are correct. At ome forging is much easier to do than running a Foundry :)

  23. DecimusMaximus says:

@LutzDerLurch Yes, they can be cast as well but making a furnace at the home for casting steel can be quite a feat. Forging is a much cheaper and easier option.

  24. LutzDerLurch says:

    @DecimusMaximus Not neccessarily forged.

  25. ANZACS100 says:

@obeyance OH SORRY MISUNDERSTANING OK BUT still itss a little dangerous but still ok
